Games are played under the official FIBA 3x3 Rules of the Game (fiba3x3.com/rules), with the event terms below. The organiser may add its own terms; any questions go to the organiser.
Entry and eligibility
- Each team registers a roster of 3 to 4 players by the entry deadline. Only registered players may play. A player may play for one team only in the competition.
- False information given at registration is grounds for disqualification. Players should carry photo identification: the organiser may ask for it at any time.
- Each team has 3 players on court and 1 substitute, and names one player as captain.
- Roster changes must be made in writing to the organiser (or on play.fiba3x3.com for an event endorsed by FIBA) before the team's first game. A player plays for one team only in each category of the event.
Game times
- Printed schedules apply only to the first game. After that, teams check the event's official schedule (the master scoreboard, this website or play.fiba3x3.com) for times, courts and changes.
- Teams must be ready at their scheduled time. A team that is not on court ready to play at the scheduled time may be forfeited.
- Bad weather or an unplayable court may change or cancel the event.
The game in brief
- One period of 10 minutes. The first team to reach 21 points before time ends wins. If the score is tied at the end, the first team to score 2 points in overtime wins.
- Shots from inside the arc are worth 1 point, from beyond the arc 2 points. Shot clock: 12 seconds.
- Team fouls: from the 7th team foul the opponent gets 2 free throws, and from the 10th, 2 free throws and possession. Players are not fouled out by personal fouls, but a player who commits 2 unsportsmanlike fouls is disqualified (check the current FIBA 3x3 rules for the details in force).
- The referees' decisions are final, are not reviewed by video or other recordings, and the referees may decide any point the rules do not cover.
After the game
- Unless the organiser says otherwise, the winning captain takes the scoresheet from the referee or court monitor to the master scoreboard, and every team checks it for its next game.
- Disputes outside the referees' authority must be raised with the organiser by the captain as soon as the incident happens. Disputes are not heard after the event ends.
Conduct
- Good sportsmanship is expected from players, coaches, team staff and supporters. Fighting, taunting, intimidation or abuse of an official, player or spectator can lead to forfeiting the game, removal from the event, and further sanctions by the organiser, the national federation or FIBA.
- The team captain speaks for the team and helps control the conduct of teammates and team followers. Questions and disputes are dealt with through the captain (and the head coach, in 5x5).
- Players and teams follow the FIBA Code of Ethics and the FIBA Code of Conduct and Fair Play, and the FIBA Anti-Doping Rules, including testing.
Equipment
- No guards, casts or hard braces (leather, plastic, plaster or metal) on the elbow, hand, wrist, finger or forearm, even if padded. Soft braces, sleeves and wraps are allowed unless they are a danger to others. No jewellery, hair clips or hard hair accessories.
- The referees and the organiser may refuse any equipment or clothing they judge dangerous or inappropriate.
Responsibility
- Everyone takes part at their own risk and is responsible for their own property. The organiser is not liable, as far as the law allows, for loss, injury or damage connected with taking part.
- Personal details given at registration are used to run the competition. Anti-doping information may be shared with the national federation and FIBA as the anti-doping rules require.
Based on the generic FIBA-endorsed 3x3 event terms and conditions. FIBA is not involved in organising this event and is not liable for it. Entry fees are paid to the organiser as it directs, not through FIBA.
